As our Team Lead Financial Accounting, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and supporting our international growth. You'll lead a team of financial accounting professionals while continuously improving processes, driving automation, and exploring innovative solutions (including AI) to make our finance operations smarter and more efficient.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with a background in audit or financial accounting who enjoys leading people, building capabilities within teams, and driving positive change in an international environment.

Your impact

As Team Lead Financial Accounting, you will:

• Lead, coach, and develop an international team of 6 Financial Accountants, creating an environment where people can grow, learn, and perform at their best.

• Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting.

• Take ownership of key accounting processes, including tax filings, treasury-related activities, payroll-related controls, and statutory reporting.

• Coordinate annual statutory accounts and external audits, working closely with auditors and administrative partners across multiple international entities.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function, leveraging automation, existing technologies, and AI solutions to increase efficiency and quality.

• Support the further professional development of the accounting team and help strengthen expertise within the department.

• Contribute to finance and business projects related to internal controls, governance, compliance, and the implementation of new policies and processes.

• Support the expansion and integration of new international entities and business activities as Sunweb Group continues to grow.

• Collaborate closely with Financial Planning & Control, Treasury, Payroll, Tax, and other stakeholders across the business.

What you bring

We're looking for a finance professional who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with a passion for leadership and transformation.

You bring:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

• A professional accounting qualification such as RA, CPA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent.

• At least 7 years of experience in financial accounting, audit, or a related finance environment.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience leading, coaching, or managing a team.

• Strong knowledge of financial accounting, statutory reporting, tax processes, internal controls, payroll flows, and year-end reporting.

• Experience working in an international and multi-entity environment.

• A continuous improvement mindset with a genuine interest in digitalization, automation, and AI-driven finance processes.

• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is a strong plus.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across different levels of the organization.

• The ability to balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach when needed.

• A proactive and solution-oriented mindset with excellent organizational and prioritization skills.

• A monthly gross salary between €6,500 and €7,000, excluding 8% holiday allowance.
