Job description

Help shape a near five-star travel app, and keep raising the bar

At Sunweb Group, our iOS app helps customers search, book and manage their holidays with confidence. As our Senior iOS Engineer, you will own features from the first Figma conversation through development, release and production monitoring.

You will join a well-maintained product that has evolved for more than a decade. Your challenge is to modernise it carefully—without losing the stability and quality our customers value.

Location: Girona preferred / Rotterdam possible
Way of working: Flexible hybrid
Contract: Full-time
Team: Team Cuba – Mobile

Your impact

  • Build and evolve customer-facing iOS experiences using Swift and SwiftUI.

  • Work confidently with UIKit where the existing product requires it.

  • Own features end to end: refinement, implementation, testing, release, monitoring and continuous improvement.

  • Act as a technical reference for iOS through code reviews, architectural decisions and documentation.

  • Coordinate with Android and backend engineers so features deliver a consistent experience across both platforms.

  • Improve release automation and engineering feedback loops using GitHub, Fastlane, TestFlight, Firebase and New Relic.

  • Contribute to API design and integrate services such as payments, excursions and transfers.

  • Use modern and agentic coding tools pragmatically to improve productivity and code quality.

What about the team?

You will join Team Cuba, our mobile team. The team is growing to two iOS engineers, two Android engineers, one backend engineer, a Product Owner and an Engineering Lead.

Most engineers are based in Girona, while the Product Owner works from Rotterdam. We work flexibly and rely on clear, proactive and deliberate communication.

You will be our second iOS engineer—not a junior pair. We are looking for someone who can take independent ownership from day one and become a true technical peer to our current iOS engineer.

Our tech stack

Swift · SwiftUI · UIKit · Swift Testing · XCTest · Xcode · GitHub · Fastlane · Firebase · New Relic · Azure · Figma · App Store Connect · TestFlight · Copilot

What you bring

  • Several years (5+) of strong Swift experience in production applications at meaningful scale.

  • Production experience with SwiftUI.

  • The ability to navigate and evolve legacy UIKit code.

  • Automated testing as a standard part of your development process.

  • Experience with Git workflows, code reviews and continuous integration.

  • Mobile release-management experience using App Store Connect and TestFlight.

  • A solid understanding of REST APIs and Swift concurrency.

  • Experience integrating third-party SDKs or APIs, ideally including payment services.

  • Experience with observability, crash triage and release automation such as Fastlane.

  • Professional working proficiency in English.

  • A proactive, pragmatic and low-ego ownership mindset.

Nice to have

  • Experience with high-traffic consumer, e-commerce or travel applications.

  • Accessibility, localisation and performance-optimisation experience.

  • Design skills and mobile UI/UX experience.

  • Spanish, Catalan or Dutch language skills.

Why join our journey?

  • Have real influence on iOS architecture and engineering standards.

  • Work on a mature, quality-first codebase with a lot of room for careful modernisation.

  • Create visible customer impact across booking, payment and in-trip journeys.

  • Join a growing team and work as a genuine technical peer across platforms.

  • Help shape digital holiday experiences used by customers across Europe.
