Job description

You are a thought leader in content strategy and a digital native. You get energy to inspire others about creating the most effective content. As the head of Content, you achieve your targets by enabling the team to exceed themselves and proactively look for collaboration with other departments within the company. Taking the time to think and be up to date about your field of expertise is important to you. You are happy to share this knowledge with the team, so that the results achieved can be celebrated together.


As a head of content, you will lead our multilingual and multi-brand editorial/content marketing team of 15-20 persons. Together you will produce and source compelling travel content to be distributed in the first place via our owned channels (website, blog, mail) and our social channels. We meet our consumers, partners, and employees, where they consume content on different platforms. To be successful in this role, you will need to think like a publisher, leading the development of content based on editorial insights and data from our e-commerce and tour operator teams.


The goal is to create and distribute high-quality content that contributes to our brand positioning, that is on-brand and relevant, SEO-proof, and platform-specific. It needs to engage our customers, partners, and employees and drive new as well as repeated business.


What is your impact as our Head of Content?

  • Build and implement the annual content marketing plans and strategy for our brands in line with our brand vision and business objectives set by the e-commerce, brand, and product teams. Ensuring the delivery of these content plans on all platforms and languages. The content should have a consistent tone of voice, even when different team members contributed to it.
  • Use consumer insights, trends, and data to keep our content relevant and our tone of voice up to date.
  • Implement measurement systems and KPIs to keep optimizing the performance of the content put out by the teams against the business’s operational objectives and strategies.
  • Stay up to date with technology, digital copywriting practices, SEO, and social media trends and train the team in these areas.

What about you?

  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar role
  • Proven editorial skills and an understanding of how the marriage of content and e-commerce applies to all channels and platforms
  • Proven social media and e-commerce skills: "speak the digital language"
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Exceptional passion for creative storytelling
  • Excellent level of English and Dutch are a must

Our office is in Rotterdam, but we are currently working from home. When the situation allows we prefer to be in the office 2-3 days a week.


Strong collaboration is key to success. You will guide the content team while partnering up with the e-commerce and brand teams to support all marketing activities, from branding to inspiration, to sales and retention messages. You will also partner up with our data analytics teams to define metrics and KPIs in line with the overall business objectives.
