Group Financial Analyst

Sunweb Group is recruiting for a Group Financial Analyst, located in Rotterdam.

We are looking for a Group Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Reporting team. This team is responsible for management reporting, including financial planning and analysis/modelling, as well as external financial reporting and internal control.

What is your role about?

In the role of Group Financial Analyst, you will be focusing on analyzing and monitoring the financial performance of the Sunweb Group across all business units and countries from our main office in Rotterdam. Reporting to various stakeholders including (senior) management, the board, shareholders and financial institutions is also a significant and important part of the activities of the analyst.

The role requires day to day interaction with our accounting, business controlling, tax and treasury teams but also with various teams in the business like supply, marketing, operations and IT teams. You will report to the Manager Financial Planning & Reporting, but will have also a close connection with the Director Finance & Control and the CFO.

Your challenge

As Group Financial Analyst you will play a key role within our financial processes. You will be involved:

• Financial Planning and Analysis – Be part of the financial planning and analysis team, working together with other teams within finance, such as business control, treasury and tax, preparing budgets, monthly forecasts, and multi-year strategic plans.

• Analysis of results – Analysis of financial results, signaling of trends and explanations of deviations. Conduct ad hoc analyses as needed to support business initiatives, strategic planning and M&A project.

• Reporting to various stakeholders – Preparation of various reporting to a range of stakeholders such as (senior) management and supervisory boards, shareholders and various external parties.

• Preparing financial statements – Preparation of the various financial statements (both holding entities and operational entities). Depending on your experience and interest, you will contribute in the preparation of various components the financial statements.

• Monthly closing process – The Financial Planning & Reporting team is responsible for the monthly closing process whereby the monthly results are analyzed and challenged, by which they can be presented to the Board. You will play a pivotal role in the process by challenging and structuring the monthly results. Improving the efficiency, speed and quality of reporting is a key focus area.

• Business Intelligence - Be part of the Finance BI roadmap activities; driving innovation, simplification and optimizing BI tooling;

What about you?

Based on your recent work experience, you are able to contribute quickly to the team. You are full of energy, eager to learn and have a hands-on, sleeves rolled up mentality.

• A Master degree in finance, business administration, or similar, preferably followed by a RA / RC / CPA / ACCA or similar degree

• At least 5 years of progressive and relevant work experience

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Critical thinking skills and great communication skills

• Takes initiative and is result-oriented

• Fluency in English language is required, with strong business writing ability. Basic level Dutch is a plus

• Experience using: Excel, PowerBI, Netsuite (or another ERP system) is a pre
