Communication Specialist

We are looking for a proactive, hands‑on communicator who thrives in an international environment, easily connects with different stakeholders, and confidently drives projects from concept to execution.

Location: Rotterdam (Hybrid – 50% in office)
Start Date: May/ June 2026

Availability: 3 days per week/ parttime

Your impact

You will be part of a small, dedicated Communications team, working closely together to support our leaders and employees throughout the organization. Your mission is to craft, coordinate, and deliver impactful communication across both internal and external channels. Your biggest focus will be internal communication, where you act as the trusted advisor and go‑to expert for our leadership team. You ensure that messages are clear, engaging, and aligned — reinforcing the culture we are proud of and driving overall engagement and eNPS.

At the same time, you will support external communication initiatives that position Sunweb Group as an attractive employer, a strong industry leader, and Sunweb as a loved brand in our local markets.

What you will do

Internal Communication (your core focus)

• Drive Communication Strategy: Support the execution of internal communication strategies by ensuring consistent, engaging, and timely messaging across all channels.

• Lead Internal Communications: Own and develop the intranet, create the weekly company update, and shape the agenda for the monthly townhall sessions — ensuring all internal channels reflect Sunweb Group’s brand, culture, and values.

• Culture Building: Co‑lead the Sunweb Group Culture Crew to further embed our company culture and strengthen connection across teams.

• Event Coordination: Plan and organize employee, leadership, and management events that drive engagement and foster a strong sense of belonging.

External Communication & Employer Branding

• External Events: Support the planning and execution of external events that enhance brand visibility and strengthen relationships with key partners and stakeholders.

• Social Media: Execute the corporate social media strategy to position Sunweb Group as an attractive employer and respected industry leader in the travel industry.

What you bring

• 4–5 years of experience in internal communication, preferably in an international organization.

• Bachelor’s degree (HBO level) in Communications or a related field.

• Strong writing, storytelling, and editing skills in English (Dutch is a plus).

• Ability to translate complex information into clear and engaging communication.

• Experience advising leadership teams and managing multiple stakeholders.

• A proactive, hands‑on attitude and the confidence to take ownership of projects.

• Ability to balance strategy with execution — from idea to final deliverable.
