Business Controller

At Sunweb Group we’re looking for a driven and analytical Business Controller to join our Finance Team and play a key role in driving performance and strategic decision-making.

Reports to: Director of Finance

In this role, you’ll be a trusted business partner to our Directors of Product & IT, Operations (Customer Care and In-Destination), and POC (HR), providing insights, improving processes, and supporting cost initiatives.

You will report to the Director Finance & Control, but will have also a close connection with the CFO. The role requires day to day interaction with leaders of the various business functions and their teams, the CEO and CFO, the Finance team and other support functions. In addition you will support the program management office with monitoring and reporting on progress on strategic initiatives within the Sunweb Group and support the business in preparing/reviewing business investment cases.

Your impact

As Business Controller, you will:

• Be a strategic partner: Act as a financial sounding board for department heads and leadership teams, aligning business goals with financial strategies.

• Own reporting & insights: Deliver accurate and insightful financial reports to senior stakeholders. Respond to ad hoc analysis requests related to KPIs, cost efficiency, and performance drivers.

• Drive forecasting & planning: Analyze variances between actuals and budgets (particularly for staffing, tech investments, and operational costs), identify trends, and propose improvements.

• Monitor and manage costs: Track OPEX performance, flag deviations, and collaborate with teams to implement corrective actions. You’ll have a key role in managing personnel, IT, and operational spending.

What you bring

You’re hands-on, full of energy, and eager to make an impact. With a strong foundation in finance and business control, you can hit the ground running and confidently engage with stakeholders at all levels.

• Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Business Controlling or a similar role

• Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence senior stakeholders

• Strong analytical mindset and excellent financial modeling skills

• Solid understanding of accounting principles (deep GAAP knowledge not required)

• Proactive and results-oriented with a self-starting attitude

• Proficiency in Excel and Power BI; experience with ERP systems like NetSuite is a plus

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written; Dutch is a plus
